Klitschko Blasts Joe Rogan Over 'Russian 'Propaganda,' Demands In-Person Talks

Wladimir Klitschko has lashed out at Joe Rogan, suggesting he is spreading Russian propaganda.

The former Unified Heavyweight Champion has been a vocal critic of the Vladimir Putin regime following Russia’s war with Ukraine. He reacted to Rogan’s recent sit-down discussion with Donald Trump during his Presidential bid for a second term. The discussion raised the Russia-Ukraine war. Trump outlined his plans to stop the war.

Rogan was also critical of the current American administration under Joe Biden. He could not fathom why Biden would allow American missiles to be used by Ukraine to hit Russia when he was leaving office on January 20. Rogan referred to the conflict as a proxy war, slamming Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for almost starting World War 3. Those comments did not sit well with Klitschko.

Klitschko Vs. Rogan

“Like, people don’t want you to be there anymore, maybe that would be a good thing we would like to avoid from a dying former president. The whole thing is nuts. [Volodymyr] Zelenskyy says Putin is terrified…You people are about to start world war three. The whole thing is a proxy war,” Rogan said

“Joe Rogan, I listened to your latest podcast. I’m sending you this video to let you know that I disagree. You talk about these American weapons being sent to Ukraine, which you believe will lead to the third world war. So, let me tell you that you are repeating Russian propaganda.

“Putin’s Russia is in trouble, so they want to scare you and people like you. His war was supposed to last three days. It has lasted three years thanks to the heroism and sacrifice of us Ukrainians. So you are using the only weapon that Putin really intends to use – propaganda. And this weapon really weakens our democracies. Putin’s Russia wants to destroy Ukraine quietly. They want America to stay quiet, not great, but quiet,” Klitschko replied

What’s Next?

The ball is in Rogan’s court. Klitschko will likely attend and address the war again in the run-up to Oleksandr Usyk’s rematch with Tyson Fury. Klitschko attended the first fight as Usyk beat Fury to become the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion. It was the first time boxing fans had seen an undisputed champion in the heavyweight division since Lennox Lewis beat Evander Holyfield in 1999.

It also meant Klitschko saw his countryman avenge his defeat against Fury. Unlike Usyk, Klitschko never got the rematch as Fury pulled out with an injury. The Gypsy King would then suffer from mental health problems, meaning fans missed out on the rematch. Klitschko spoke about the importance of Usyk’s win for the morale of the country. And he hopes to set the narrative straight with Rogan.

“A great America is not an America that abandons countries that defend freedom with their lives. In short, you see I have quite a few points of difference. If you invite me to your podcast, we can discuss them like free men,” Klitschko added
