Keyshawn Davis will rematch Nahir Albright in a 12-round junior welterweight headliner on May 16.

The pair first met in October 2023. While Davis initially walked away with a majority decision, the result was later overturned to a no-contest after he tested positive for marijuana. The rivalry reached a boiling point in June 2025. After Albright defeated Keyshawn’s older brother, Kelvin Davis, a heated backstage confrontation occurred when Keyshawn reportedly entered Albright’s locker room.

The ensuing brawl resulted in a grudge between the two camps. In chief support, former WBO Welterweight Champion Brian Norman Jr. (28-1, 22 KOs) faces Josh Wagner (19-2, 10 KOs). This will be Norman’s first fight since losing his WBO title to Devin Haney in November 2025.

Reaction

“Keyshawn and Nahir left a lot of unfinished business in their 2023 fight, and everything that’s happened since has only intensified the stakes for this rematch. Norfolk fans know exactly what this fight means for Keyshawn as he strives to re-establish himself as one of boxing’s elite stars. Brian Norman Jr., who many considered the best fighter in his division before losing his crown, returns in the co-feature looking to re-establish himself as a dominant welterweight with explosive knockout power and charisma. This inaugural doubleheader is the perfect launch of our new partnership with DAZN,” Todd duBoef (Top Rank President)

“Since my last fight, I’ve grown sharper, stronger, and more focused than ever. On May 16, you’re going to see the best version of Keyshawn Davis. ‘The Businessman’ is ready to handle business in front of my people! It means everything to be kicking off this new era for Top Rank on DAZN. I’m honored to lead the charge and show the world what this next chapter looks like. Norfolk, stand up–we’re putting on a show,” Davis said

Is The Rematch Needed?

The reported backstage locker room brawl added a layer of animosity. Just like the rivalry heated build-up between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia, the emotional weight of a grudge often produces a more aggressive, high-stakes performance from fighters.

Before the “No Contest,” Davis had largely outboxed Albright, showcasing the elite amateur pedigree that made him an Olympic silver medalist. Critics suggest that Davis should be focusing on the elite tier of the junior welterweight division rather than revisiting a domestic-level opponent he has already technically beaten once. If Davis wins comfortably, he merely confirms what the public already suspected in 2023, gaining very little ground in the world rankings. If he struggles or loses, his stock takes a hit.
