Keyshawn Davis Drops Lemos 3 Times In 2nd-Round TKO

Keyshawn Davis stopped Gustavo Lemos in the second round, dropping his man three times in the process.

Davis fought in front of his home fans at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. The venue was sold out with over 10,000-plus people in attendance. Coming into the fight, Davis vowed to show that he was the superior fighter. And so it showed, as he put on a comprehensive performance. Right from the off, the difference in quality showed. Lemos tried to press the action, but he was landing short with his punches. Davis was getting the measure of his man by working his jab to the body. After feeling each other out in the first, Davis found his range in the second.

Keyshawn Dominates

A big right hand connected on the chin, which sent his man to the floor. That was followed up by a massive left hook as Lemos hit the canvas again. Although Lemos got up, he hit the canvas again. A combination to the head and body sent Lemos to the floor as the fight was stopped. The ComPuBox number showed how dominant Davis was.

Keyshawn landed 15 out of his 31 punches thrown in the first round, compared to Lemos, who landed 10 out of 42. The second round was even more comprehensive, with Davis connecting with 9 out of 15, while Lemos landed 3 out of 12. Keyshawn connected with 9 out of 22 jabs in the opener and 2 out of 7 in the second. Lemos only landed one jab in the whole fight. Davis landed 13 power punches out of 17, with Lemos only connecting with 12 out of 38.

Post-Fight

“I had no hesitation. Me and my team, we stuck to our guns. We said if he comes in too much over we ain’t gonna fight. But he followed his game plan, and he didn’t come too much over (at the weight check on Friday morning), so we had a fight and we gave a spectacular night. I didn’t feel no power in him. I actually sat back on the ropes one little second, and I let him throw his overhand that he loves and I felt it on my shoulder.

“And I looked at my brothers and gave them that face like, no, not enough (power). It ended in the second round so maybe he didn’t really get a chance to hit me. He’s [Tank Davis] kind of weird, but now he has no choice but to fight me. The fans want him to fight me after what I did tonight against a guy that is bigger than him,” Keyshawn said
