Keyshawn Davis Destroys Denys Berinchyk; Secures KO To Claim WBO Lightweight Title!

Keyshawn Davis knocked out Denys Berinchyk in the fourth round to win his first world title by picking up the latter’s WBO Lightweight Belt.
The win was all the more impressive given the pre-fight antics. Keyshawn was unhappy after someone delivered a banana, watermelon and a note to his room, as he accused Berinchyk of a racist act. Berinchyk denied doing so, pushing Keyshawn at the weigh in as he was frustrated. Davis could have let the emotion overwhelm him. But he kept his nerve to deliver a comprehensive performance. The opening round was cagey, with Berinchyk moving around the ring with his lateral movement.
Keyshawn said he would stop his man in the first round, but it never looked like happening with Berinchyk staying out of range. The crowd were unhappy as boos could be heard. Davis increased the tempo in the second round, looking to land his uppercut. Berinchyk stopped Keyshawn in his tracks, clinching at every possible moment. But Keyshawn found the answer in the third round.
Keyshawn’s KO
He landed a left hook to the body, sending Berinchyk to the canvas. Although Berinchyk beat the count, the writing was on the wall. Davis delivered as he ended the fight in the fourth. Davis dropped his man with another left hook to the body. Berinchyk’s nose was pouring with blood, as he could not beat the count. Keyshawn called out Gervonta Davis and Vasiliy Lomachenko.
“Man, it was an amazing feeling. The only thing that was kind of giving me a little bit of trouble was how he kept jumping in and out, jumping in and out. And he was a little faster than I expected. But as rounds went on and on, I just got more comfortable in there. There are two 135-pound champions that I would love to fight. If they have the guts to step in the ring with ‘The Businessman,’ tell them to send me a contract or I can send them one,” Davis said
“Keyshawn Davis is a sensational young fighter. What a performance. You saw the future of boxing tonight here in New York City,” Bob Arum
