Joyce's Final Words To Hrgovic - 'Juggernaut 2.0, Here I Am'

Joe Joyce and Filip Hrgovic weighed in ahead of their heavyweight clash this weekend.

Joyce is facing one of the most critical fights of his career. He has suffered three losses from his last four fights, meaning it is a must-win bout. Two stoppage losses to Zhilei Zhang and then a defeat to Derek Chisora meant that he faces question marks over whether he should retire from the sport. Meanwhile, Hyrgovic has his doubters to prove wrong. Hrgovic was stopped in his last fight by Daniel Dubois, who secured the IBF Interim Heavyweight Title. And given that Dubois was elevated to a full champion, the loss was hard to take. Joyce weighed 275.1 pounds, while Hrgovic weighed 250.6 pounds.

Reaction

“Juggernaut 2.0, here I am. On the scales, of muscle, bone, and desire to get back to the top of the sport. This is why I’m here. I got that winning formula. I’m coming; I’m here. Don’t miss it. I’m glad to be here. I feel great, and can’t wait. It wasn’t my best in my last fight [a defeat by Daniel Dubois]. I’m ready.

“It is a great fight, entertainment, and I expect a great performance. It is good to share the ring with Hrgovic again; we had a good scrap last time about 12 years ago. The same result is going to happen: I’m going to win and then get elevated back up to the top of the sport. I am really excited to be here again, there is a lot of excitement here, and it is going to be a great night of boxing. I know exactly what to expect from him, and I have worked with Abel [trainer, Sanchez] before. He’s got a lot of mileage and has been in the sport a long time and had a lot of hard fights. I look forward to knocking him out on Saturday night,” Joyce
