Joshua Slams Whyte’s Failed Test – ‘People Who Have Accused Me Have Popped Dirty’

Anthony Joshua has addressed Dillian Whyte’s failed test in light of their fight being called off.

AJ was meant to face Whyte on August 12th, 2023, in what would have been a rematch of their 2015 encounter. In response, Robert Helenius was brought in as a replacement as the card will still go ahead.

However, the fallout from this has gotten Joshua addressing certain comments that were made about him.

In the past, Whyte had alleged that Joshua may have been ‘legally juicing’. While that may have been the case, Joshua has never failed a drug test, suggesting that he is one of the cleanest athletes in the sport.

But it all came to a head when Whyte questioned Joshua’s use of Therapeutic Use Exemptions in the past.

Whyte on Joshua

“Look at it like this – there’s loads of fighters who are legally cheating. There are many fighters on TUEs – Therapeutic Use Exeptions – who are legally juicing, the doctors just give it to them saying they’ve got asthma, they’ve got ADHD or whatever, and they’re legally juicing. That’s the bigger question in sport that needs looking into and needs shining a lot on, it’s TUEs, because you’d be shocked to see how many fighters are on stuff,” Whyte said

But now that Whyte’s news has emerged, Joshua has had a lot to say about it. The ‘Body Snatcher’ has failed three tests in his career.

The first one happened in 2012 which resulted in a two-year ban. Although another failed test followed in 2019, Whyte was cleared. So this latest positive test leaves Whyte with many questions that need answering.

Joshua Responds

“I have a long history of being drug tested and sometimes you have to question the person who keeps pointing the finger. It’s funny that the two people who have accused me have popped dirty themselves,” Joshua

As Whyte is 35-years-old, if he were to get a serious ban, then there is a high chance that he may never return to the sport. And that would be a dour end to a career that had at one point promised so much.
