Jon Jones Updates Fans On His Comeback – ’16 More Weeks To Become The Beast’

Jon Jones has provided fans with an update on how he is doing.
The UFC Heavyweight Champion is working his way back from an injury as he is expected to fight Stipe Miocic. Jones was scheduled to face him at UFC 295, only to pull out with a pectoral muscle injury. He had surgery as he targeted a comeback this year. However, during his time away from the sport, Bones has had some struggles. He has been charged with two misdemaours in relation to threatening to kill a Drug Free Sport agent who went to his house to drug test him.
It is claimed that Crystal Martinez was threatened by Jones, who was intoxicated. Although Jones showed footage of him walking her and her colleague back to their car in a peaceful manner, Jones has been charged. He has pleaded not guilty, but he could face jail time for up to one year with a fine of $1500.
Jones’ Return
But the heavyweight is not letting the background noise distract him, as he was focused on getting back in top shape. The following clips show Jones working on his core and pull-ups. While he admits he is not 100 percent, he is happy with how things are going since he is coming back from an injury.
“Tomorrow, I’ll be 37 years old !! I’m 260 pounds 16 weeks away from fighting the most decorated heavyweight in UFC history. I feel like I’m in a great spot right before training camp ramps up. My form is far from perfect in these videos, but I’m happy with it considering the surgeries I recently had. 16 more weeks to become the beast , that’s exactly what I will do. #Champion2024,” Jones said
Jones has plenty of people chasing him, namely Tom Aspinall. The Brit fights Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304 on July 27. He defends the interim title that he won by knocking out Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 295. Aspinall made it clear that if he gets past Blaydes, he will no longer defend the interim title. Blaydes is the only person to have beaten Aspinall, stopping him in the first round in 2022.
Jones Vs. Aspinall
However, Aspinall did injure his knee as he sought to avenge the loss. Jones has publicly stated that he expects Blaydes to win, which would reduce the calls on him to fight Aspinall. But if Tom comes through, UFC commentator John Gooden has told Jones to give the Brit his credit.
“He [Blaydes] is a very, very dangerous guy, a legitimate perennial contender who has been there or thereabouts for the longest time. He’s also crossed those leaderboards with his style, obviously with the wrestling-heavy grappling style. But the man will open you up if he lands an elbow, and he will change the fight.
“If Tom Aspinall gets past Curtis Blaydes, and particularly in an impressive fashion, then I think that Jon Jones cannot do anything but acknowledge that victory and therefore surely must creep a little bit further into those two getting together, but of course, Tom’s got a big appointment ahead,” Goodman said
