John Gotti Eyes A Rematch With Mayweather – ‘We’ve Been Speaking’
John Gotti III has revealed that talks for a rematch are underway with Floyd Mayweather for another exhibition.
The pair initially came across each other when they fought at the FLA Live Arena on June 11th, 2023, in a heated match up.
Mayweather dominated the fight, picking off Gotti at will, in a comprehensive performance. Despite this being the case, the exhibition was overshadowed by the heated verbals.
The referee, Kenny Baylis, warned both fighters to cut it out. But since that caution was ignored, Baylis stopped the fight.

That resulted in Gotti swinging at Mayweather, as the chaos began, with the fighters’ camps jumping in the ring.
In the aftermath, Gotti branded Mayweather an ‘enemy for life.’ Once the dust had settled down somewhat, the Florida State Athletic Commission banned Gotti for six months for his behavior.
But now it seems that both have put their differences behind them, as a rematch could be underway.
“Listen, there’s no animosity toward Floyd. I said he was my enemy for life out of anger, but he’s not my enemy. It got diffused. We’re good. We’ve been speaking.
“My father’s been in touch with their team, and there’s no bad blood here. It’s business. We did what we had to do, and we squash it and move on.
“We’re in talks right now, actually, to do something. So we’ll see where it goes. From what I understood, after the fight, it was the most Googled thing in the whole world.
“Floyd’s a businessman. Floyd wants to capitalize on that. He wants to make money. So if they want to do it again, I’m here, and I promise you this time, I’m going to come out guns blazing,” Gotti
While the rematch will no doubt draw in the numbers, Gotti will have to radically change his game plan in order to make any headway.
And given that Mayweather hardly broke a sweat, the chances of Gotti pulling off an upset are very slim. Nevertheless, Gotti has vowed to come out a different man.
“Now we’re going to fight, and I’m going to take it to him every second of the round….Now, it’s war between me and Floyd,” Gotti
