Jaron Ennis Vs. Eimantas Stanionis: How Will It Play Out?

Jaron Ennis and Eimantas Stanionis will fight in a welterweight unification as we look at how the fight could play out.

Ennis puts his IBF Welterweight Title on the line as he enters the fight with an undefeated 33-0 record. He defeated Karen Chukhadzhian in his previous bout. It was the second time he had beaten him, but it was not the best performance, as Ennis was tagged on numerous occasions. Stanionis has also never lost, as his record is 15-0. He has stopped nine of his opponents, showing he has respectable power. He beat Gabriel Maestre in his last fight. Let us take a look at how the fight may proceed.

Ennis Vs. Stanionis

Ennis is known for his ability to get in and out of range before letting off explosive shots from angles. Stanionis has solid fundamentals but not the best footwork, giving Boots a chance to set up his shots without getting hit. A key part of this will be to judge the distance. Stanionis is very strong when he fights on the inside, looking to land his hooks.

His high guard allows him to slip shots and let off his own. Boots may decide to keep things long to not play into Stanionis’ hands. He has the reach advantage, meaning the jab could be key to prevent Stanionis from simply walking in. Ennis is a knockout artist, who is 33-0, with 29 KOs. He has stopped two of his last three opponents.

Stanionis has gone 12 rounds in three of his last four fights. His stamina will prove crucial, as Ennis looked uncomfortable in his last fight against Chukhadzhian. The latter was landing repeatedly on Ennis, as Stanionis may look to push the pace with increased output. He is known for his bodywork, as he may look to wear down his man. If he can land his right hand over the top, he could trouble Boots. And with a 15-0 record, with 9 KOs, his record is to be respected.

Mindset

“It’s respect. It’s a big fight. For the belts, and I don’t know if we need to sell this fight or not. I think they’ve sold out already. I don’t even know him, so how can I dislike him? I’m here for one thing – one – and that’s bring home the WBA belt and that Ring Magazine belt, and be unified champ. You can’t really take nothing from no face-off, besides if a guy’s trembling or shaking a little bit. You can’t really tell from a face-off. I didn’t really care,” Ennis said

“Beating Boots changes everything for me. It puts me on the throne of the Welterweight division and kicks the door open to pound-for-pound greatness. But this isn’t just about belts—this is about legacy. I fight to carve my name into the history books. “Every time I fight, I fight with Lithuania on my back. My people know struggle, they know toughness—and I carry that spirit into the ring. When I win, they win. This moment isn’t just for me—it’s for every single person back home who believes in the warrior I’ve become,” Stanionis stated
