EX-UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jamahal Hill has caused controversy after footage showed him threatening to KO UFC Hall of Famer Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

The incident happened backstage at UFC 323 where Jedrzejczyk allegedly made Hill angry due to her conduct towards his partner, but it was not clear if she was present. The video shows Hill stating the following: “Do not touch my girl or I’m going to knock you the f* out! Period!” Jedrzejczyk seemed to be held back by security before stating “Yeah? You will?”

Since that incident, Jedrzejczyk has come out to give her account of the story. Jedrzejczyk made it clear that she was simply standing her ground, vowing not to be bullied.

Reaction

“I worked so hard to earn my reputation, and I’m embarrassed to be in this situation. But when somebody uses my name falsely without any basis in truth, I will always stand up for myself. And for that, I do not deserve to be threatened. I’m mindful that I am a strong, capable woman who has the benefit of a lifetime of self-defense training. I have a platform, resources, that most women don’t have.

“So I empathize with the women who are disrespected and threatened, and lack the power and means to stand up for themselves. And to stand up for the truth. I expect more from society, and I certainly expect more from athletes in our sport. I want to thank the UFC security and staff for their professionalism. I consider this matter closed, and I wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season,” Jedrzejczyk stated

Hill was previously arrested and charged with aggravated domestic violence in late 2023 for allegedly assaulting his brother, though he was later released on bail. Elsewhere, Hill’s return from an achilles tendon injury has been disastrous, resulting in three consecutive losses: being knocked out by Alex Pereira, TKO’d by Jiří Procházka, and losing a decision to Khalil Rountree Jr. The latest incident has gotten fans talking.
