Jake Paul’s PFL Debut Much Closer – ‘The Fall Of This Year’

PFL chairman Donn Davis expects Jake Paul to make his PFL debut by the end of this year.
Jake signed a deal with the PFL in 2023 as part of a major revamp of the organization. The PFL also signed Francis Ngannou, Claressa Shields and Amanda Serrano, to name a few. Jake has not made his debut in MMA, having stayed in the boxing ring. Jake has managed to put on numerous lucrative events, earning him big paydays in the process. He secured big purses in his fights against Tommy Fury, Nate Diaz and Mike Tyson. He only suffered one loss in his boxing career, coming up short against Fury. But the damage from that fight has been reduced, having secured $40 million in his last performance by beating Tyson in a unanimous decision.
Jake has consistently said that he wants to win a world title in boxing, meaning that his long-term future is in the sport. He is also targeting lucrative fights against Conor McGregor and Canelo Alvarez, which are likely to earn him much more than the $40 million from the Tyson bout. But he did sign the PFL deal, meaning there are going to be questions over when he makes his bow.
He has made two offers for an MMA fight. One of those offers was reportedly between $15-$20 million for a two-fight deal against Fury. One would have been a rematch in boxing, whilst the other would have been in MMA. Fury has also been pictured training with UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall. Fury was on record saying he was ready to fight Jake once he got the needed experience.
Paul’s PFL Debut
Paul also made a $10 million offer to Nate Diaz to have their rematch in MMA. It would have taken place in the PFL. Davis also agreed to up the offer to $15 million to get the bout done. It never happened, but there is still a potential to explore that avenue. Jake could equally have an MMA fight with Tyron Woodley. But that is now unlikely since Woodley signed a deal with the Global Fight League. The organization is expected to hold its first event in April, meaning that Paul will have to look elsewhere for an opponent. But Davis has reassured fans that they will see The Problem Child in the PFL this year.
“I just talked to Nakisa [Bidarian] an hour ago. Two things are happening: Jake is super successful in boxing. Whether you love Jake or hate Jake, we can all agree that guy’s the man when it comes to generating attention, revenue, and viewership with his boxing career. It’s more successful than it was when we signed him.
“On the boxing side, that success has delayed MMA because he’s killing it in boxing. So will MMA happen with the PFL? Yes, it will. Has it been delayed? Yes, it has. My guess is the fall of this year, but I don’t think it’s going to be before that. He’s got so many things going on in boxing,” Davis said
