Jake Paul Vows To ‘Maul’ Diaz, Mikey Garcia Responds

Jake Paul has vowed to come back better when he faces Nate Diaz on August 5th, 2023.
Paul will be looking to overcome his loss to Tommy Fury via a split decision in his last fight, which was significant given that he had faced his first professional boxer.
While that may be the case, Paul did go the distance and earned some plaudits, as he managed to inflict a knockdown on Fury.
But ultimately, Paul came up short which is why he is looking to put things right this time around.
“Man, I have the biggest chip on my shoulder, the biggest chip on both shoulders. Coming back with vengeance, refilled with that hunger that I had in the beginning of the sport to prove to people what I was capable of.
“The lion lost. I’ve retreated back into the jungle, I took notes of everything, I got better, I trained, and now this lion is going to come out and maul this dude. And he’s gonna have to pay — he’s gonna have to pay for all this hard work, all this sacrifice I’ve made in this camp,” Paul
Mikey Garcia On Paul’s Chances
Nevertheless, standing in his way will be Diaz. The latter has nothing to lose, given that he is the underdog who will be making his boxing debut.
However, Diaz is an established MMA star who could cause an upset on any other given day.
And given his performances in sparring, Paul will have to be wary. Former world champion Mikey Garcia recalled one of Diaz’s sparring sessions and was impressed by what he had seen, setting up the prospect for an exciting fight.
“I was surprised and impressed at the same time. [Diaz] just finished twelve rounds with Falcao, who’s a number-one contender fighting for a title in three weeks. So, that’s impressive!”
“[Jake Paul] is in trouble, for sure,” Garcia continued. “He’s fighting a real fighter. He’s not fighting someone that’s a ‘wannabe’ fighter or former basketball player … [Diaz is] a fighter, he’s active. [Paul] is in trouble, for sure,” Garcia
