Jake Paul Sneaks Into UFC 306 To Defy UFC Ban
Jake Paul snuck into UFC 306 to defy a ban that Dana White had imposed on him.
The UFC imposed a ban on Paul over two years ago to reflect the bad blood between him and Dana White. Paul has been critical of the UFC by calling them out for not paying fighters enough. White has hit back by accusing Paul of being on steroids and shutting down any attempts from Jake to make bouts with his UFC fighters. This happened when Paul called out UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira for a boxing fight.
White immediately dismissed the idea. But Paul got his own back. The following footage shows Paul meeting with his friend Sean O’Malley, who headlined against Merab Dvalishvili. Paul and O’Malley are partners in their bodycare brand ‘W.’ Paul wanted to support O’Malley by going to the event. Paul dressed up as an old man. He fooled security and made his way into the arena. Paul sat behind Dana White, while Pereira even walked past without getting spotted.
Paul Sneaks In
“I’m about to sneak into the Sphere. Two years ago, I was banned from all UFC events by Dana White… But since my best buddy Sean O’Malley was fighting for a world championship, I had to be there. But if I’m gonna illegally sneak in, I need a disguise and a good one. Little did Sean know that I was gonna sneak in to watch him… But there’s another problem. I’m risking going to jail if I get caught, can you imagine the mugshot?” Paul said
Although Paul managed to beat security, O’Malley was far less successful. He suffered a one-sided unanimous decision defeat, losing his UFC Bantamweight Title. Paul will hope to go one better when he faces Mike Tyson on November 15. Their clash was rescheduled after Tyson pulled out with an inflamed ulcer. There were increasing calls for the fight to be canceled, with concerns over Tyson’s health. Tyson will be 58, while Paul is 27.
Paul’s Fight
Tyson has not boxed since facing Roy Jones Jr. in a 2020 exhibition, while his last pro fight was a loss against Kevin McBride in 2005. Paul has been much more active, having won three fights since last December. He is coming off a sixth-round stoppage win over Mike Perry in his last fight. The Problem Child has been vocal about his desire to become a world champion.
He has earmarked a future fight with Canelo Alvarez as a way to achieve this. A win against Tyson is hardly going to boost his credentials in getting that fight. However, a loss would be a massive blow for his brand in justifying a world title shot. The pressure is on Paul to deliver, and based on his last few performances, he will back himself to do it.
