Jake Paul Bashed After Rescheduling The Tyson Fight - 'Nobody Wanted This, Just Cancel It'

Fans have been left angered by Jake Paul’s refusal to boycott the Mike Tyson fight after he choose to reschedule the date instead.

The fight has now been confirmed for November 15 after the original July 20 date was pulled. This was after mass concerns about Tyson’s health. The boxer was suffering from an inflamed ulcer when he was on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles. It occurred on May 26, resulting in the flight being delayed for two hours as Tyson received treatment.

His team initially confirmed that the boxer would be fine. That all changed when Tyson withdrew. Although a new date was always going to be the case, fans have criticized Paul. There is a danger that Tyson could hurt himself in the training and preparation for this fight. He is no longer the same fighter who became the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion. He will be 58 by the time he enters the ring. There is a risk to his health, and boxing is a sport which can be unforgiving. This year has already seen the death of two boxers.

Tyson’s Risk

Ardi Ndembo died at the age of 27 after being in a coma for two weeks. Sherif Lawal also died after suffering a defeat on his pro debut. The boxer passed away shortly after being taken to hospital. There is also a danger that the sanctioning bodies could come under fire if something goes wrong. The Texas State Athletic Commission sanctioned it as pro fight under the following terms.

It will be an eight-rounder, under two-minute rounds, with 14-ounce gloves. Had the fight been an exhibition, as it was being teased initially, it may have received more support from the fans. After all, Tyson did have an exhibition in 2020 against Roy Jones Jr., But the reaction from the fanbase has now become critical.

Paul vs. Tyson

“Our team has worked diligently with all parties involved to reschedule this monumental fight to a date that ensures both Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are fully prepared, with equal training time, as well as allowing us to keep the event at AT&T stadium in the midst of the Cowboys season.

“We appreciate the outstanding dedication, collaboration, and flexibility of our partners at Netflix and AT&T Stadium. Paul vs. Tyson is the most cross generational sporting event in history, and we are committed to providing fans worldwide with this unforgettable night of boxing, live globally on Netflix. We look forward to seeing everyone on Friday, November 15 for a showdown that will be talked about for generations to come,” Nakisa Bidarian (co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions)

“Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly. I am thankful to the medical staff that treated me and to MVP, Netflix, and AT&T Stadium for working diligently to find the best reschedule date for all parties. While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight. Jake Paul is getting knocked out. On Friday, Nov. 15, watch this in-person at AT&T Stadium or live on Netflix,” Tyson
