Jake Paul Backed Will Beat Nate Diaz, The ‘Problem Child’ Wants McGregor Next

UFC star Randy Brown has predicted that Jake Paul will beat Nate Diaz comprehensively when they meet each other on August 5th, 2023.
Paul will be looking to bounce back from his split-decision loss against Tommy Fury. And coming into this fight, Paul is the favorite.
Paul’s loss was against his first professional boxer, but when it comes to facing MMA stars, the ‘Problem Child’ does have an impressive record. Wins over Anderson Silva, and Ben Askren were testament to that.
In contrast, Diaz has not fought in any capacity since his win over Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 in 2022. As such, Diaz is the clear underdog which Brown feels will only work against him.
“I think [Diaz] gets destroyed in a boxing match. Jake Paul is a boxer by this point. We have to give credit where credit is due and he’s a boxer. He might not be an extremely high-level boxer but at this point, he’s boxing primarily.
“That’s where he spends most of his time whereas a lot of MMA fighters, we have to split our time between so many different things,” Brown said
Much in the same way, Eddie Hearn has backed Paul to stop Diaz. So much so that he did not see Diaz going past four rounds.
This was on the basis of training footage that the 38-year-old had put out, which showed Diaz working the pads.
In addition, there are also question marks over whether Diaz will be able to fight at a boxer’s pace, given that there are more rounds than the UFC.
“I watched clips of Nate Diaz hit pads and I was like [shocked]. You know that it’s going to be a mismatch against Jake Paul. It won’t go four [rounds] unless it’s all a bit of a bluff from Nate with what I saw.
“When you see people hit pads, you just know. I love Nate Diaz, I’ve only met him a couple times, what a gent, but for it to be a mismatch against Jake Paul,” Hearn stated
Paul On McGregor
Meanwhile, Paul has backed himself to beat Conor McGregor in a potential boxing match.
The pair had been linked with a crossover fight when Paul had reportedly offered the Irishman $50 million in order to make the fight happen.
Although that may have been the case, the fight did not go ahead. This is despite the fact that McGregor had shown he was capable of entering into the boxing ring when he faced Floyd Mayweather Jr.
But given that he suffered a tenth-round-stoppage loss, the ‘Notorious’ may have been hesitant. This is in addition to the fact that McGregor has lost three out of his last four UFC fights.
Regardless of what the case may be, Paul is keen to get it on.
“Either one, we can fight in the PFL smart cage, whatever it is. I told everybody that I would fight Conor in any form of fight because he, in my opinion, is that shot.
“I’ll do MMA, I’m not afraid to step in there. I’ve wanted to do that my whole career. I’m a wrestler, I’ve got a wrestling background, so all I’d have to learn is some jiu-jitsu and some kicks, which seems pretty easy to me,” Paul admitted
But before anything like that can happen, it is important to bear in mind the following points. Paul has also been linked with a mega fight involving KSI.
The latter is on course to fight Tommy Fury, who had beaten Paul, as a weight limit has finally been agreed. And if KSI were to get that win, there is a chance for the Youtuber to face Paul.
Meanwhile, McGregor has been linked with a fight with Michael Chandler in what would be his return to the octagon.
And as the pair are competing against each other as coaches of TUF 31, the bad blood has been built for a super cage fight.

“It’s been all over the internet, obviously you guys saw the push, the shove, the face shove heard around the world, saw around the world, and the ‘You’ll do what you’re told’ line that Conor has already put out.
“Conor McGregor and I, I think have a pretty good relationship. As good of a relationship as you can for a guy whose face you want to rip off,” Chandler revealed
As of now, Paul and McGregor have to make sure that they get past their next opponents without any hiccups in order to keep the prospect of this fight alive.
But if they manage to do just that, then there is no reason why they cannot get it on. Time will tell how it all plays out moving forward.
