Jack Catterall Vs. Harlem Eubank Preview

Jack Catterall faces Harlem Eubank on July 5 as we preview this upcoming fight.

Catterall enters into the fight, having not boxed at 147 since 2020. He had been focusing on securing a title shot at 140 following his controversial defeat to Josh Taylor, which prevented him from becoming the Undisputed Junior Welterweight Champion. While Catterall avenged the Taylor loss, there were no belts on the line. Instead, he had to beat Arnold Barboza Jr. to secure a title shot against the WBO Junior Welterweight Champion Teofimo Lopez. Catterall ultimately came up short, pushing his world title ambitions back further. Now, he has the chance to rejuvenate his career if he can beat Harlem in a mega domestic clash.

Harlem is currently undefeated with a 21-0 record. His career has been managed carefully under the tutelage of Chris Eubank Sr. Harlem has secured belts such as the IBF Inter-Continental welterweight title and the WBO Global junior welterweight title. His last two wins have come against Nurali Erdogan and Tyrone McKenna. However, this is by far his biggest test.

Pre-Fight

“When the phone rang and they presented Harlem, it was a yes. It’s always been a yes. I’ve never turned down any fights. What excites me about this fight is the domestic fights. They’re the fights that, throughout my career, I’ve probably performed my best. The pressure is on but I think I thrive under the pressure. Coming off a defeat I’ve got to go in there and perform and prove that I belong at this level,” Catterall said

“I put my body through the gruelling process of this training camp and each and every time we lift it up a level and we’ve gone in there and done that. I’m in a great place and I’m looking forward to going in and delivering a serious performance next week. You have to adjust. Tactically, it’s a different approach. You get guys that mimic the style of the different components of Jack’s game. We’ve done that. We’ve covered all bases. “I’m prepared for anything that he’s capable and I’m ready to go in there and dominate,” Harlem said
