Isaac Cruz Predicts A Confident Charlo Against Canelo

Isaac Cruz has given his take on Canelo Alvarez’s upcoming fight with Jermell Charlo.

The pair will square off on September 30th, 2023, as the undisputed junior middleweight, Charlo, takes on the undisputed super-middleweight champion, Canelo.

The news of the bout was a shock to say the least, given that the Mexican had been linked with fighting Charlo’s brother, Jermall Charlo.

But given that the latter had been out of the ring for two years, the American lacked the time to be ready.

Instead, Jermell will be moving up two weight classes to fight Canelo at 168 lbs. And as Charlo has never fought above 154 lbs, there are question marks over whether he has bitten more off than he can chew.

But when it comes to Cruz, Pitbull is expecting a competitive fight.

“I think that if Charlo took on this challenge it is because he knows that he can cause an upset. We are going to get a great fight because Charlo is also very strong, seasoned and more than anything he’s motivated,” Cruz

Despite this being the case, the boxing community was disappointed not to see a Mexican clash with David Benavidez.

The latter is the WBC mandatory for Canelo, but a fight has yet to be made with suggestions that Alvarez is ducking the ‘Mexican Monster.’

But given that Canelo is a four-division champion, Cruz had nothing but respect for his fellow Mexican.

“Canelo is going to reiterate why he’s one of the best or quite possibly the top pound for pound fighter in the sport. I think he has done all of the [fights] that people have wanted to see.

“Right now, they are attacking him because he has not faced or has not wanted to face Benavidez. He has the right, at this moment, to pick and choose who he fights with,” Cruz

Canelo will be the favorite, but Charlo has nothing to lose which is why the bout is so intriguing. So how will it all play out moving forward?
