Isaac Cruz Hopes To Fight Ryan Garcia

Isaac Cruz is open to having a fight with Ryan Garcia at some point in the future.
Cruz’s stock has risen somewhat following his performance against Gervonta Davis in 2021. The Mexican managed to last 12 rounds with a power puncher, who has 27 KOs.
Although Davis did have a hand injury through the fight, Cruz’s impressive performances since then have been telling.
Victories over Yuriorkis Gamboa and Eduardo Ramirez have propelled Cruz into a WBC/WBO lightweight title eliminator on the biggest stage of all: on the Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford card as the co-main event attraction.
Meanwhile, Garcia is looking to bounce back from his loss to ‘Tank Davis’ after he was stopped in the seventh round.
A new trainer in the form of Derrick James could do that, as the American is known for placing emphasis on boxing fundamentals.
Although Garica is now at 140 pounds, while Cruz campaigns at 135, the latter is keen on fighting Garcia.
“I think a fight against Ryan Garcia would be an entertaining fight. I don’t have it in my immediate horizon right now. I have to focus on July 29th,” Cruz
This naturally begs the question: will the fight happen? Well, Garcia is currently targeting a fight with Rolando Romero.
The latter possess the WBA junior-welterweight title. While that may be the case, Romero has been ordered to face his mandatory Ohara Davies.
And yet, the purse bids for the bout have been postponed due to a medical issue that Romero’s team have disclosed.
However, if that fight does not happen, then Cruz could be an ideal opponent. After all, Garcia has also spoken about wanting to face the Mexican at some point.

“I’m very frustrated. I’m trying to get this fight done, and I see this interview. There’s a way, and they simply don’t want to do it. I tried to give you guys a fight that you wanted. It’s not in my hands anymore,” Garcia
