Irish Establishment Mocks McGregor’s Political Plans – ‘Unfit For Public Office’

The Irish political establishment has criticized Conor McGregor’s intentions to run for President.
McGregor made a recent visit to the White House to meet the United States President Donald Trump. During his appearance, he spoke with the media and spoke out about his feelings towards Ireland’s problems. He singled out their apparent failure to deal with illegal immigration, something which he felt needed to be addressed. McGregor then announced that he would be running for President as he suffered a negative response from the Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin.
“It is the people of Irelands choice! Always! That is a true democracy! I would also be curious to hear our government officials reasoning for agreeing with this pact so fervently. I would love to hear the debates! Followed then by vote! This is the future of Ireland with me as President. All citizens of Ireland to have a voice and a choice on their future! God bless our people! Vote McGregor and have your voice heard!,” McGregor said
During a recent BKFC presser in Dubai, McGregor hinted that his future in combat sports may be over.
He has not had a UFC fight since 2021 when Dustin Poirier defeated him. That was his third defeat out of his last four fights. McGregor was planning a comeback against Michael Chandler at UFC 303. He never got to do so after he withdrew with the toe injury.
He then suffered a civil sexual lawsuit after Nikita Hand accused him of an assault at a hotel room in Dublin in 2018. McGregor was subsequently ordered to pay her damages and her legal fees as his reputation took a massive nosedive. If McGregor does decide to run for the presidency, it will be a divisive decision, since he is not the most popular figure compared to when he was a two-weight UFC champion. The Irish political arena has now had their say with many disapproving of him.
