Indian Boxer Neeraj Goyat Makes History, Beats Whindersson Nunes On Paul-Tyson Card

Indian boxer Neeraj Goyat created history as he boxed on Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson’s card, beating Brazilian YouTuber/comedian Whindersson Nunes.
The 33-year-old Goyat won a unanimous decision in their six-round super middleweight clash: 59-55, 60-54, 60-54. That took his record to 19-4-2. Eight of those wins are by knockout. Goyat took the long route to make it to this stage. He is from Begumpur, Haryana, India. Goyat took up the sport of boxing at a very late age, in 2006, when he was 15. He found his passion for the sport by watching the former Undisputed Heavyweight Champion Mike Tyson. It was only fitting that he would then fight on his bill.

Goyat’s Big Break
Goyat’s amateur career was a partial success. He won a bronze medal at the Youth Commonwealth Games in 2008. He became the first Indian to undertake the 2016 Summer Olympic qualifiers in Venezuela. While he failed to make the cut, it did pave the way for a pro career. Goyat was the first Indian to get a WBC ranking. Goyat was also the WBC Asian Champion for three consecutive years from 2015 to 2017. He almost got his break in 2023. He was set to face former two-time world champion Amir Khan. However, Goyat pulled out after suffering a car accident.
“We are very sad to inform that Neeraj Goyat, who was preparing for his mega fight against Amir Khan, met with a car accident last night that has caused him severe injuries on his head, face and left arm. Goyat is currently in hospital and we wish him a speedy recovery,” Bill Dosanjh (Promoter of the Super Boxing League)
He sustained injuries to his left arm and head. He then called out Jake Paul for a fight. The following picture shows him confronting Paul over a fight in the presence of Amanda Serrano.

“Hey, Jake Paul! I’m the man of my word. I’m here. [And] I’m in your country. I’m here in your town. I’m here in your gym, man. Now abuse. I’m here, I’m in your country. I am in your town! I’m here in your gym man,” Goyat
“Listen, brother, you can’t handle all that talk? Did I hurt your feelings?” Paul
While the fight never happened, he did sign with Most Valuable Promotions. That has set up the narrative for a fight later down the line. The clip below shows him agreeing to fight Paul verbally.
