Hearn Questions Dubois’ Resilience Following His Loss To Usyk

Eddie Hearn has reacted to Daniel Dubois’ loss to Oleksandr Usyk.
The Brit was counted out in the ninth round, as he lost the chance to become the unified heavyweight champion of the world.
However, prior to that, the Brit did put Usyk down in the fifth round. The shot by Dubois, though, was classed as a low blow as Usyk had over three minutes in order to recover.
Although the body shot continued to divide the boxing community in the aftermath as to its legality, Hearn felt that Dubois had to show more resolve.
After all, this is the second time that he has not gotten up in a major fight. During his fight with Joe Joyce, Daniel took a knee even if he did have some issues with his vision. With that being said, this is what Hearn had to say.
Hearn On Dubois
“To make it to the elite level, you got to get up. Daniel Dubois has to show more resilience,” Hearn
Nevertheless, Dubois has shown that he does have some resolve. In his fight prior to Usyk, the Brit was floored three times by Kevin Lerena.
And in the process of doing so, he did injure his knee. That did not stop Dubois from stopping the South African, through.
Dubois On Beating Lerena
“I’m looking to go to the big league and progress from this fight. I want to lay my mark down on this division and what ever [Lerena] brings I’m going to have to deal with it.
“There are some big fights out there, I’m just outside the big league of Fury, AJ, Usyk, Deontay Wilder… These are the guys I want next and I’m fighting to get to that next level. I’m not really looking at who is behind me. I’m looking to step up to the plate, and demolish them,” Dubois
And yet, it is one thing doing it in that fight, but another thing entirely replicating it in a heavyweight championship bout. And that is something that Dubois has failed to do.
