Hearn On Aspinall’s Earning Power

Matchroom boxing promoter Eddie Hearn revealed that Tom Aspinall is now generating more income through individual commercial partnerships than one of his UFC fights.
This surge in revenue follows Aspinall’s decision to sign with the newly launched Matchroom Talent Agency earlier this month, a move that has intensified the public debate over fighter compensation in MMA. Hearn expressed a mix of shock and frustration regarding the disparity between Aspinall’s global stardom and his fight-night earnings. According to Hearn, Matchroom secured multiple sponsorship and brand deals for Aspinall within just two weeks of signing him—agreements that reportedly exceed his recent UFC fight purses.
Aspinall’s move with Matchroom comes as he continues a grueling recovery from the severe eye injuries sustained at UFC 321 in October 2025 against Ciryl Gane, as his first title defense ended in a no-contest. The champion is currently battling bilateral traumatic Brown’s syndrome, a rare disorder that severely restricts eye movement and causes persistent double vision.
Following a period, Aspinall underwent a series of operations, including a second major surgery in February 2026. While Aspinall has expressed a desire to “get his revenge” on the heavyweight division, he remains uncleared for full-contact sparring.
Earning Power
“We are closing in on a number of deals for Tom Aspinall. Commercial deals where I would say UFC fighters have got to understand the job that we’ll be doing. Tom Aspinall, having been with Matchroom Talent Agency for what will be 10 days to two weeks, he will make more money in commercial deals than he did for one of his recent fights. Within 10 days of working with Matchroom. Once of his recent fights, in the last four fights. So they’re leaving a lot of money on the table,” Hearn said
Aspinall has also made it clear that he aims to maximize his commercial earnings under this new Matchroom deal.
“I have signed with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom on a commercial advisory deal. I wanted to add to my value. Eddie’s someone that I’ve known for a fair bit, I trust Eddie. I wanna make as much money and grow commercially as much as possible,” Aspinall said
