Haney Ripped For Suing Garcia – ‘You’re Crazy, Take This Whooping Like A Man’

Tim Bradley says that Devin Haney is making his situation worse by suing Ryan Garcia.
Haney suffered the first defeat of his career, as Garcia dropped him three times to win a majority decision. The result was turned into a no-contest after Garcia failed VADA tests for Ostarine. Garcia subsequently received a year’s ban, while Haney is regrouping to decide what to do next. The Dream did not defend his WBC Junior Welterweight Title after only Top Rank made a purse bid for his Sandor Martin mandatory. He vacated the belt as he eyed his next opponent.
Since then, he has sued Garcia for fraud, battery and unjust enrichment. Haney has also named Golden Boy Promotions in the lawsuit. As the saga continues to roll on, Haney has drawn a lot of backlash on social media. They felt Haney was wasting the best part of his career by not moving on, especially since Garcia had been punished. There was also a narrative in place for Haney to take the rematch rather than trying to take this into the courtroom.
Haney Vs. Garcia
In addition, Garcia agreed to pay a $1.5 million fine after he came in overweight, which Haney also agreed to. That leaves Haney in a weaker position, especially since Garcia had already been punished. Haney has several opportunities available for him at 140 and 147. He could take on a mega bout with the WBO Junior Welterweight Champion Teofimo Lopez. They were rivals during their days at 135 pounds, but once Lopez lost his unified titles against George Kambosos Jr., he moved up to 140.
That is when Haney cleaned up at 135 pounds and became undisputed by beating Kambosos. There is also the Liam Paro fight, as he holds the IBF belt at 140. Paro caused an upset by beating Subriel Matias to win the title. Paro is with Matchoom, making it easier to make the fight. Haney would likely have to go Australia, somewhere he has been twice when he beat Kambosos.
Bradley Responds
There is also an alternative for Haney to move up to 147. He could have a fight against the WBC Welterweight Champion Mario Barrios. Barrios will defend his belt against Abel Ramos on November 15 on the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson card. Barrios was linked with a fight against Manny Pacquiao, but that appears unlikely. Haney could get that fight as it offers him an opportunity to become a three-weight world champion. Meanwhile, it gives Barrios a legacy-defining fight. Bradley simply felt that Haney would lose support by continuing to dwell over this.
“Let’s move forward. Let’s not continue to live in the past. Now, Haney is bringing this back up. I don’t get it. Haney, you’re wasting your time. You’re wasting your money. You’re wasting other opportunities. Everybody is looking at you like you’re crazy. Haney, you were in the fight. You fought the wrong game plan, but now you want to come and sue. It don’t make any sense. People are not going to support him and be behind him. He just needs to take this whooping that he got and take it like a man and move on, Haney,” Bradley said
