Haney Mocks Garcia For Spending Time With Mayweather – ‘Floyd Can’t Save You’
Devin Haney has had a jab at Ryan Garcia for hanging out with Floyd Mayweather as both men traded words on social media.
Following their recent wins, Haney and Garcia started talks for a potential fight for this year. Haney became the WBC junior welterweight champion with a dominant win over Regis Prograis in his first fight at the weight class. Garcia secured his first win under Derrick James, stopping Oscar Duarte in the eighth round. Garcia responded by contacting team Haney with hopes that a fight could be made since they both fought under DAZN in their last fights.

Canelo is the undisputed super middleweight champion with a net worth of around $200 million. Garcia’s Instagram following is over 10 million, showing his crossover appeal. Unsurprisingly, they all have a huge social media following, exceeding Haney’s numbers. The fact that Haney’s name was not mentioned got a reaction. After all, Haney is a two-weight world champion. ‘The Dream’ responded by messaging Garcia and then leaking his response.

This also raises questions over whether Garcia will sign with PBC. He is unhappy with Golden Boy Promotions, having entered a legal battle over a breach of contract. That was followed up by verbal attacks against De La Hoya and Bernard Hopkins during his pre-fight presser with Duarte. His contract reportedly ends within the year, leaving Garcia with numerous options.
