Haney Expects Garcia To Grovel After Losing - 'I’m Going To Handicap Him'

Devin Haney expects Ryan Garcia to apologise once he beats him on April 20.

The Dream defends his WBC Junior Welterweight Belt against Garcia, who is chasing his first world title. Haney is the favorite, although the controversial build-up has clouded the fight. Garcia has been accused of disrespecting Haney’s Islamic faith, while Ryan alleged Haney’s security had assaulted one of his friends. Garcia has also been mocking Haney’s previous attendance at P Diddy’s party after the rapper recently saw his home raided on alleged sex trafficking allegations. Haney and Garcia are on record, stating that they are no longer friends, making this personal for Haney.

Haney Reacts

“Ryan Garcia is going to say, ‘I knew you were a great fighter,’ because he knows the level I’m on. He knows what I bring to the table. He knows what type of fighter I am. I’m going to handicap him of his power like I do. If I don’t want to get hit, I’m not going to get hit. I’m going to handicap Ryan. He’s going to fight with both arms behind his back. The respect went out the door, and it’s personal now. He crossed the line. Me and Ryan Garcia never got to talk again. Once he loses and I make an example out of him, he’s going to try and say all that,” Haney said

Kenneth Sims Jr., an ex-sparring partner for Haney, expects him to beat Garcia. Sims Jr. was in camp when Haney faced George Kambosos Jr. It was Devin’s biggest fight since he was fighting for the Undisputed Lightweight Title. Things were made much more difficult as Devin went to Australia to take on Kambosos in his own backyard on two occasions. Haney beat Kambosos to become the youngest undisputed champion at 135 in the four-belt era. Sims Jr. expects Haney to be too much for Garcia.

Who Will Win?

“Yeah, I sparred Devin when he was getting ready for his Kambosos fight. I never been in there with Ryan. Ryan got some talent, he’s explosive, fast, can punch. But, I think Devin should pull it out. Yeah, I sparred Devin when he was getting ready for his Kambosos fight. I never been in there with Ryan. Ryan got some talent, he’s explosive, fast, can punch.

” But, I think Devin should pull it out. I think it’s boxing where everybody can punch in 8-ounce gloves. Anybody can be knocked out anytime. That’s why you need to stay sharp on defense. I think Devin got the ability to stop him. Just like Ryan got the ability to stop him. And it’s boxing, you’ll never know what is going to happen until you get in there,” Sims Jr. stated

Garcia cannot afford to lose another high-level pro fight. He was stopped by Gervonta Davis, giving him his first-career loss. For all of Ryan’s natural talent, he has still not crossed the line to become a world champion. That is the biggest question mark over Garcia come fight night.
