Gervonta Davis has warned boxers from signing with Floyd Mayweather Jr

Tank and Mayweather are currently not on the best terms. This is a big departure from their last public interaction at the Ryan Garcia fight. Mayweather and Davis embraced each other after Tank defeated Garcia. Since then, things have gone downhill. Davis first alleged that Mayweather was stuck in Dubai due to owing people money in the region.

Mayweather responded by sharing posts of Davis dancing on social media and a video of Shakur Stevenson calling out Tank Davis. Mayweather followed those up by claiming Stevenson had more skill than Davis, even if Tank was the stronger puncher. While Davis did build his career under Mayweather, now that he is free of Mayweather Promotions, he has hit out at his former mentor.

Davis On Mayweather

“If you sign with this fraud..he will…[mess] up ya career…he’s not a good businessman at all,” Davis said

Mayweather Promotions is experiencing some major changes. Leonard Ellerbe has left his role as CEO, a position he has held since the company was formed in 2007. Former Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schafer has been appointed in an attempt to revamp the brand.

“Mayweather Promotions would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Leonard Ellerbe for his exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication over the years. Leonard has been an integral part of our team, contributing to numerous business endeavors that have played a pivotal role in the success of Mayweather Promotions.

After years of hard work and dedication, Leonard has made the heartfelt decision to step down as CEO to spend more time with his family and loved ones…We have the utmost respect for his decision and are incredibly grateful for his leadership that has helped shape Mayweather Promotions into the thriving organization it is today,” Mayweather stated

Nevertheless, there are further obstacles that need addressing. An increasing number of fighters are leaving PBC. Canelo Alvarez, Deontay Wilder and Terence Crawford have recently left. PBC has also secured their Amazon Prime Video deal, which is still in the process. There is no guarantee that the network will continue. PBC does not have a foothold with the Saudis, unlike Queensbury Promotions and Matchroom Boxing, who are making the biggest fights. There are worries that Mayweather Promotions will not be able to compete.

Mayweather vs. Gotti

And yet, Mayweather has not let that stop him from pursuing his ventures. He recently announced his rematch with John Gotti III for August 24. It will be a rerun of their first exhibition, which ended in a brawl. Mayweather was dominating the fight. However, the referee warned the two about using offensive language. They failed to heed that warning as the fight was stopped. However, Gotti began swinging towards Mayweather. The entourage from both sides entered the ring as a brawl broke out. Gotti would end up receiving a suspension.

“The DBPR Florida Athletic Commission took immediate action the evening of Sunday, June 11, and suspended John Gotti III for six months,” Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation said

Now, that the suspension is over, fans have had plenty to say about Mayweather and Davis.
