Garcia Has No Regrets Over Retiring From Boxing

Mikey Garcia has revealed that he has no regrets over retiring from the sport of boxing.
The Mexican has been out of the ring since his loss over Sandor Martin. That was the second loss of his career, as he also came up short against Errol Spence Jr.
The latter was a defeat when he jumped up two weight classes to 147 in an attempt to cause a shock. And yet, Garcia walked away with a career to match the very best of them. The Mexican is a former four-division champion, with nothing else left to prove in the sport.
And given that he did have high-profile wins over Adrien Broner and Robert Easter Jr. to secure those titles, Garcia has created a legacy that could very well land himself in the hall-of-fame.
As such, any chances of Garcia making a comeback to the sport now appear very slim since he has ruled it out.
Garcia On A Return
“Nope [no plans on returning]. I’m happy with what I accomplished and what I did,” Garcia
This is understandable since Garcia has made a career in real estate since he left the sport. The Mexican is reportedly earning around $1 million a year from his real estate investments, showing that he does not need the sport to earn the mega bucks.
In addition, in a sport where the welfare of a fighter can change forever, Garcia has left boxing on his own terms. And this is something that Floyd Mayweather had laid the blueprint for.
“Life is great. My family has a comfortable life from me going out there and taking chances and taking risks. That was the ultimate goal. I am very happy that I was able to be a risk-taker. Roll the dice and take chances. Me being in the 12th grade, leaving school, leaving everything behind, leaving my family behind to go out there and do something that I love to do. It paid off in the long run,” Mayweather
Mayweather and Garcia have laid the foundation for other fighters. And there is no getting away from that. You can stay up-to-date with the latest happenings in the world of boxing and MMA by visiting boxingblitz right here.
