Fury Vs Usyk Fight Moved To 2024
A potential undisputed heavyweight fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk has now been penciled in for January 2024 in Saudi.
According to reports, the reason for such a decision has been the desire for the two fighters to have a run out before meeting. Fury has not had an opponent since Derek Chisora, although an announcement is forthcoming.
Meanwhile, Usyk will face Daniel Dubois on August 26th, 2023. And on top of that, Anthony Joshua is expected to fight in August, most likely against Dillian Whyte, as Deontay Wilder could face Andy Ruiz Jr.
Therefore, the lack of recovery time as well as a chance that one of the fighters could lose has resulted in a change in plans.
“It’s [Usyk vs. Fury] not going to happen this year. It’s been delayed and delayed and delayed. The Saudis will not make contractual offers until these guys are fought in the summer.
“Are we even going to see Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte? It doesn’t look that likely, although we’ve heard this morning that they’ve withdrawn the rematch clause from that contract.

This is the last thing that boxing fans were expecting to hear, given that the last time there was a heavweight undisputed champion was all the way back in 1999 when Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield.
In addition, recent news has emerged that Fury’s next fight is going to be a ‘game changer.’ This has raised speculation that the ‘Gypsy King’ could end up fighting an MMA star after having been linked with Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones.
Meanwhile, there is no guarantee that Fury would take such a fight thereafter as his track record shows he does have a history of pulling out of fights: take for example his withdrawal from the Vladimir Klitschko rematch.
