Fury Dismisses Tyson’s Influence On Being In Ngannou’s Corner

Tyson Fury has dismissed any worries that could emerge with the introduction of Mike Tyson as Francis Ngannou’s trainer ahead of their fight on October 28th, 2023. 

Tyson will work as Ngannou’s trainer and cornerman as they attempt to pull off one of the biggest shocks in the boxing world.

After all, Tyson has already confirmed that such a win would be bigger than his loss to Buster Douglas.

However, rather than being too downbeat, Iron Mike did warn Fury of the power that Ngannou does possess.

 “Tyson Fury got dropped by a small guy early in his career. [Francis] punches like God knows who, man. He’s an athlete, he moves quicker, works with his speed, and listen man, he only has to land one or two. Tyson’s never been in the ring with somebody that can punch this hard.

“He asked me to go all out aggression. He’s moving his head, he’s getting it together, and he’s determined to do this stuff for his country, his people, his patriotic pride. This is really interesting. I’m very excited about doing this,” Tyson

Nevertheless, those words could have been an attempt to simply add more publicity on the fight.

The build up for Jake Paul’s fight with Tommy Fury was similar, but that did not prevent the latter from beating the ‘Problem Child.’ As such, the ‘Gypsy King’ was not worried.

In reality, the pressure is all on Fury to perform but that is not because of what the MMA star brings to the table. As long as Fury can deal with the expectation to win, then there is no reason why he should come up short.

After all, Ngannou has never had a professional boxing fight. And there is no getting away from that.
