Focus PK Wor Apinya Gets Lesson from Stephen Irvine at ONE Friday Night Fights 70
When Scotland native Stephen Irvine chose to pursue his dream of fighting Muay Thai professionally, he knew that he wouldn’t be able to do much of it in his native country. Instead, Irvine would have to travel halfway around the world, to where the sport is more popular, to ply his trade. While fighting Focus PK Wor Apinya Friday night at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Thailand, Irvine showed there isn’t much that phases him.
Focus, 19, had a hard time handling the more veteran fighter. According to online boxing news, Irvine’s pressure made it difficult for Focus to get off his best shots. Irvine hit Focus with good shots early, then kept him off balance with excellent feints.
Not being able to figure out what was coming didn’t take long to sink Focus. Irvine caught Focus along the ropes. When Irvine threw a left hook, it landed clean on the button. Focus was unable to keep his feet and landed straight on his back along the side of the ring.
The fight was waived off after 1 minute, 57 seconds of action. Irvine is now 27-4 in his career and has a 4-1 record in ONE.
Yodthongthai Wins in Disappointing Fashion
No fighter should ever feel let down by a win. Yodthongthai Sor Sommai would have liked to have seen his knockout victory against ET Wankhongohm MBK as the result of something spectacular that he did. But Yodthongthai instead would win a first-round KO victory because of something special that his opponent attempted.
MMAfighting latest news shows that ET went for a flying knee when Yodthongthai was in the corner of the ring. The strike didn’t land, and ET’s front foot landed on the ropes. The instability with his footing would prove to be disastrous for ET.
His other leg buckled horribly. ET fell back to the canvas and immediately started to grab his knee. The referee stepped in immediately to save ET and give Yodthonghthai his 59th career win. Yodthongthai has won three straight fights in ONE.

While he didn’t earn a knockout against Tubtimthong Sor Jor Lekmuangnon, Yodnumchai’s toughness impressed many fans Friday night. Early in the first round, Tubtimthong sent Yodnumchai crashing to the canvas with a left hook right on the button.
Being hit with such a strike would have been enough to discourage many fighters. But Yodnumchai knew he had plenty of time to work. By the end of the first round, Yodnumchai found a way to even the score in terms of knockdowns. Yodnumchai sent Tubtimthong to the canvas with a crushing elbow.
However, Tubtimthong would also get back to his feet. Both men would then spend the next two rounds exchanging punches. Yodnumchai ended up landing the better of the strikes and would pick up a unanimous decision win.
Apidet Stuns Boonchu
Apidet FiatPathum looked like he may be in a bad spot during his ONE debut against Boonchu Sor Boonmeerit. Boonchu was pressing forward and had Apidet’s back against the ropes in the second round. But when Boonchu moved in for what he thought may be a finish, he ended up out cold.
Apidet picked up his first ONE win by landing a right hook 21 seconds into the first round. Apidet now has a 61-8 record in his career.
PayakSurin Does Enough to beat Tahaneak
PayakSurin Or AudUdon knew he had to match the intensity of Tahaneak Nayokatasala if he was going to hang in a 119-pound Muay Thai catchweight battle. The latest boxing news online shows that PayakSurin had to keep up with Tahaneak’s strong kicking game early.
But what PayakSurin had to work on consistently throughout the match was how to set the pace himself. In the third round, PayakSurin seems to have picked up on what he needs to do. PayakSurin attacked by maintaining his distance before eventually unleashing powerful left hooks to take control.
He would end up doing enough damage to pick up a unanimous decision win. The latest trending boxing news shows that PayakSurin improved to 41-10 in his career.
