Fighters Slam McGregor Over Sexual Assault Verdict
Fighters have reacted to Conor McGregor’s sexual assault civil lawsuit findings, where the UFC fighter was ordered to pay approximately $258,440 to Nikita Ni Lamhain.
According to reports, Lamhain claimed that McGregor had sex with her without getting her consent. James Lawrence was also alleged to have done this. The alleged incident happened in 2018 at a hotel room in Dublin. Both parties denied the claims against them. Lawrence was found not liable, while the same cannot be said for McGregor. The Notorious stayed silent when he exited the courtroom. Since then, he has put a statement on social media indicating his intention to appeal the decision. He has since then deleted that post on X as question marks remain over where McGregor goes next. Meanwhile, Lamhain felt her verdict was a win for others who may have gone through similar encounters.

Further Reaction
“She has given me so much strength and courage over the last six years through this nightmare to keep pushing forward for justice. I want to show her and every other girl and boy that you can stand up for yourself if something happens to you, no matter who the person is, and justice will be served.
“To all the victims of sexual assault, I hope my story is a reminder you have a voice and to keep on fighting for justice. I know this has impacted my life, my daughter’s, my family and friends’ tremendously and is something I will never forget for the rest of my life. But now that justice has been served I can now try and move on and look forward to the future with my family, friends and daughter,” Ni Lamhain said
McGregor’s UFC career is in limbo, having not fought since his Dustin Poirier loss at UFC 264. He pulled out of his Michael Chandler fight set for UFC 303 with a broken toe. While McGregor said he would face Dan Hooker in Saudi Arabia in February, that looks unlikely, given the UFC’s silence. McGregor must also get in a good mindset following this verdict and the subsequent fallout. Several UFC fighters have spoken out, leaving McGregor to feel the brunt of public opinion.
