Professional Career

 

Vincent Astrolabio started his professional boxing career on August 14, 2015, with a first-round TKO victory over Argie Emendo at SM City Annex in Davao City, Philippines. This debut showcased his power and set the stage for his career. He continued to build his record with several impressive wins, including a third-round TKO against Bener Santig on November 13, 2015, at the Philippine Navy Gymnasium in Taguig City. A significant early milestone was on July 24, 2017, when Astrolabio won the vacant Philippines Mindanao Professional Boxing Federation (MinProBA) bantamweight title by defeating Joe Tejones via unanimous decision at the South Cotabato Gym in Koronadal City. This victory highlighted his potential as a rising star in the bantamweight division.

 

On April 6, 2019, Astrolabio captured the vacant WBO Oriental bantamweight title with a ninth-round TKO victory over Patrick Liukhoto in Jakarta, Indonesia. This win was a crucial step up in his career, as it earned him recognition on the international stage. He successfully defended this title against Kevin Aseniero on August 24, 2019, and Wilbert Berondo on December 15, 2019, both by knockout, solidifying his position as a formidable champion. Astrolabio’s career continued to ascend when he faced Guillermo Rigondeaux on February 26, 2022, in Dubai, UAE. He won the vacant WBC International bantamweight title with a unanimous decision victory, a significant achievement given Rigondeaux’s status as a seasoned and highly respected boxer. This win marked a turning point, demonstrating Astrolabio’s ability to compete and succeed against top-tier opponents.

 

On December 17, 2022, Astrolabio won the vacant WBO Inter-Continental bantamweight title by knocking out Nikolai Potapov in the sixth round at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. This victory further established him as a contender in the global bantamweight division. However, on May 13, 2023, he faced Jason Moloney for the vacant WBO bantamweight title at Stockton Arena in California. Despite a valiant effort, Astrolabio lost by majority decision, showcasing his resilience and skill even in defeat. Most recently, on August 26, 2023, Astrolabio bounced back by defeating Nawaphon Kaikanha via TKO in the eleventh round at Suan Lum Night Bazaar Ratchadaphisek in Bangkok, Thailand.
