Vergil Ortiz Jr. was born on March 25, 1998, in Dallas, Texas. His introduction to boxing came at an early age, influenced significantly by his father, Vergil Ortiz Sr. When Ortiz Jr. was just seven years old, his father took him to a local boxing gym, hoping to channel his son’s energy into something structured and disciplined.
