Professional Career
Toshiki Shimomachi began his professional boxing career on December 5, 2015, with a knockout victory against Raimon Mune at EDION Arena Osaka, Osaka. This impressive debut was followed by a series of successful bouts that showcased his growing prowess in the ring. On April 2, 2017, he achieved a notable win against Kazuki Baba, another milestone early in his career, securing a TKO in the first round at the same venue. Continuing his rise, Shimomachi faced Tomoki Yamada on July 29, 2017, at the Incubation Center in Amagasaki, winning by unanimous decision. This win was part of a streak that included a victory over Ryosei Hamaguchi on September 17, 2017, with a knockout in the fourth round, further establishing his reputation as a formidable contender in the super bantamweight division.
A significant bout in Shimomachi’s career occurred on August 9, 2020, when he fought Hiroki Hanabusa at the City Sogo Gym in Hirakata. Shimomachi won by TKO in the fifth round, capturing the Japanese Youth Super Bantam title. This victory marked a turning point, solidifying his status as a rising star in Japanese boxing. Shimomachi’s momentum continued with a series of notable wins. On December 11, 2022, he defeated Jeo Santisima by unanimous decision at EDION Arena Osaka, with all judges scoring the bout 99-91 in his favor. This win was followed by a unanimous decision victory against Ryuto Owan on June 29, 2023, at Korakuen Hall, securing the vacant Japanese Super Bantam title.
In a highly anticipated match on October 31, 2023, Shimomachi faced Toshiya Ishii at Korakuen Hall. The bout ended in a majority draw, with scores of 95-95 from two judges and 96-93 from the third, demonstrating Shimomachi’s ability to compete at the highest levels of the sport. Most recently, on April 13, 2024, Shimomachi fought Tulio Dekanarudo at EDION Arena Osaka. He won by TKO in the fifth round, reaffirming his dominance in the super bantamweight category. The bout was stopped at 1:07 in the fifth round by referee Nobuto Ikehara, with judges scoring favorably towards Shimomachi.
