Suzumi Takayama began his journey on February 26, 2019, at Korakuen Hall, where he faced Nirun Baonok. Takayama won by knockout in the third round, setting the stage for his rise in the boxing world. He continued his winning streak on June 25, 2019, with a first-round TKO victory over In Soo Jang, further establishing himself as a formidable opponent in the ring. Takayama’s career took a significant step forward on October 19, 2019, when he competed for the vacant Japanese Youth Super Flyweight title against Tetsuro Ohashi. In a dominating performance, Takayama secured the title with an eighth-round knockout, showcasing his endurance and knockout power. After a hiatus, he returned to the ring on July 21, 2021, defeating Kosuke Tomioka by first-round TKO, reaffirming his position as a top contender.

 

One of Takayama’s notable victories came on October 30, 2021, against Kai Chiba at Korakuen Hall. In a closely contested bout, Takayama won by unanimous decision, with scores reflecting his technical superiority and strategic prowess. This victory added to his growing reputation as a skilled and resilient fighter.

 

In 2023, Takayama’s career continued to flourish. On June 13, he captured the vacant Japanese Super Flyweight title by defeating Ryusei Kawaura with a fourth-round TKO. This victory not only earned him the title but also demonstrated his ability to perform under pressure. Later that year, on September 22, he defended his title against Tsubasa Murachi, winning by eighth-round TKO in a hard-fought match. Takayama’s latest triumph came on April 25, 2024, when he defended his Japanese Super Flyweight title against Akio Furutani. He won by TKO in the third round, solidifying his dominance in the division.
