Ryosuke Nishida made his professional debut on October 3, 2019, with a first-round knockout of Sakol Ketkul. Nishida quickly established his dominance in the bantamweight division, winning his first major title by defeating former WBC flyweight champion Daigo Higa on April 24, 2021, to claim the WBO Asia Pacific bantamweight title. Nishida successfully defended his title multiple times, with notable victories over Tetsuro Ohashi, Aljum Pelesio, and Songsaeng Phoyaem. His undefeated streak continued as he claimed unanimous decision wins against Christian Jimenez and Emmanuel Rodríguez. The victory over Rodríguez on May 4, 2024, at the EDION Arena Osaka was particularly significant, as it earned Nishida the prestigious IBF bantamweight title, solidifying his status as one of the top fighters in the division.
