Biography
Professional Career
Reymart Gaballa began his professional career on February 2, 2014, with a first-round TKO against Kevin Cabonales in Iligan, Philippines. Gaballo quickly established himself as a knockout artist, winning his first 11 bouts by stoppage, many of them in the first round. His early career saw him dominate local competitions, displaying his explosive power and finishing ability.
In 2018, Gaballo’s career took a significant leap forward when he captured the vacant WBA interim bantamweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Stephon Young at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida. This victory showcased his ability to compete at a higher level and marked his arrival on the international stage. Gaballo continued to build on this success, securing wins over notable opponents such as Julias Kisarawe and Yuya Nakamura, both by TKO, further cementing his reputation as a formidable puncher.
However, Gaballo faced a significant challenge in December 2021 when he fought Nonito Donaire for the WBC bantamweight title at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. Despite a valiant effort, Gaballo was stopped in the fourth round by the experienced Donaire, marking his first professional loss. Determined to bounce back, Gaballo captured the vacant WBC Asia Continental and WBO Oriental bantamweight titles with a second-round TKO victory over Ricardo Sueno in October 2022.
Gaballo’s resilience and skill were on display once again when he defended his WBO Oriental bantamweight title against Michael Bravo in June 2023, winning by split decision. He continued his winning streak with a first-round knockout of Paipharob Kokietgym in February 2024, showcasing his enduring power and precision. However, his career faced another setback in May 2024 when he lost to Kenbun Torres by first-round TKO in a surprising defeat.
