Biography
Professional Career
Since making his debut in May 2017, Curiel has shown a consistent ability to dominate his opponents, which is evident in his unblemished record. Curiel’s career began on a high note with a majority decision win against Jesus Sanchez Quiroz at the T-Mobile Arena, setting the stage for his aggressive and forward-moving career trajectory. Early in his career, he demonstrated his knockout power, achieving consecutive knockouts against opponents like Israel Villela and Quantavious Green at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, a venue that has become a familiar battleground for several of his fights.
As Curiel progressed, his opponents became increasingly challenging, but his performance remained consistently strong. Notably, his fight against Ryan Pino in September 2018 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino was a departure from his knockout streak, showcasing his ability to control the fight over the distance and secure a unanimous decision. This victory displayed his versatility and skill in adapting his fighting style as needed. Curiel’s knockout power remained his standout trait, as seen in later fights such as his seventh-round KO of Jeremy Ramos and a second-round retirement win against Andrew Rodgers, both in 2019. These victories underlined his potent punch power and ability to finish fights decisively.
The pinnacle of Curiel’s rising career came in his more recent bouts. In 2021, he secured a significant TKO victory over Ferdinand Karobyan, a fight that stretched into the ninth round, showing not only his endurance but also his capacity to perform under prolonged pressure. His most recent victory in December 2022 against Brad Solomon, where he achieved a knockout in just 44 seconds of the second round, emphatically confirmed his status as a powerful and dangerous contender in the division.
