Professional Career
Oscar Collazo began his professional journey on February 15, 2020, with a third-round TKO victory over Vicente Castro Cheneque at Coliseo Pedrin Zorrilla in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Collazo followed this debut win with a second-round TKO against Kevin John Cruz Jusino on December 5, 2020, at the same venue. In 2021, Collazo continued his winning streak, securing a unanimous decision victory over Francisco Bonilla on March 25 at Plaza del Quinto Centenario in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He then claimed the vacant WBO Latino mini flyweight title with a third-round TKO against Pedro Villegas on December 3, 2021, at Los Andes Mall in Panama City, Panama.
Collazo’s success extended into 2022, where he faced Vic Saludar on July 16 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, and won by unanimous decision in a 12-round bout. He continued his dominance by knocking out Yudel Reyes in the fifth round on January 28, 2023, at YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California. The pinnacle of Collazo’s career came on May 27, 2023, when he won the WBO mini flyweight title by stopping Melvin Jerusalem after the seventh round at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California. He defended this title successfully against Garen Diagan on August 26, 2023, at Roberto Clemente Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where Diagan was forced to retire after the sixth round.
Collazo maintained his title with a third-round TKO against Reyneris Gutierrez on January 28, 2024, at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. His latest bout saw him retain the WBO mini flyweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Gerardo Zapata on June 7, 2024, at Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York.
