McKinson embarked on his professional journey on October 4, 2014, with a points win over Jan Salamacha, setting a foundation for a series of victories that would define his early career. His ability to outpoint opponents consistently was evident from his debut, showcasing his tactical prowess and ring management skills. Over the years, McKinson demonstrated a remarkable consistency, accumulating wins and gradually stepping up in competition. Notable early victories included his win against Ryan Martin on April 8, 2017, where he captured the vacant WBC Youth World Welter title. This victory was a significant milestone, highlighting his potential as a rising star in the welterweight category.
McKinson’s career trajectory took a notable upswing with several important victories, such as his win over Colin Lynes in November 2017, where he secured the WBC International Silver Welter title via a TKO, showcasing his power and ability to finish fights.
