Early Life and Amateur Career

 

Lewis Crocker was born on January 6, 1997, in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Growing up in a city with a rich boxing tradition, Crocker was naturally drawn to the sport from a young age. He began boxing at the age of seven, training at the well-respected Immaculata Boxing Club in Belfast. His early years were marked by a deep commitment to the sport, where he honed his skills and developed a powerful, aggressive style that would become his trademark in the ring.

 

Crocker’s amateur career was characterized by significant achievements and a series of impressive victories on both national and international stages. One of his early notable successes came in 2012 when he won the Irish Junior National Championships. This victory highlighted his potential and marked him as one of the top prospects in Irish boxing. His success at the national level earned him a spot on the Irish national boxing team, where he competed in various international tournaments.

 

In 2013, Crocker competed in the European Youth Championships held in Rotterdam, Netherlands. His performance in this prestigious tournament was impressive, as he advanced through the early rounds and faced tough opponents from across Europe. Although he did not medal, his participation provided him with valuable experience and exposure to different boxing styles. He secured a first-round TKO victory over Ferenc Jarko, setting the tone for a career marked by aggressive fighting and powerful punches. Crocker quickly built a reputation as a knockout artist, with early victories including a second-round TKO against Radoslav Mitev on June 17, 2017, and a first-round KO against Sylwester Walczak on July 29, 2017.

 

Continuing his rise, Crocker maintained an undefeated record with a string of impressive performances. He showcased his skill and power in subsequent fights, including a second-round TKO against Gyula Rozsas on November 18, 2017, at the SSE Arena in Belfast. By April 21, 2018, Crocker further solidified his standing with a third-round TKO over Scott James at the SSE Arena. His ability to finish fights early and decisively became a hallmark of his style, earning him a growing fanbase and attention from the boxing community.

 

In 2020, Crocker won the vacant WBO European welterweight title with a seventh-round TKO against Louis Greene on August 26 at Production Park Studios in South Kirkby, England. He successfully defended this title against Deniz Ilbay on March 12, 2021, with a points victory, and again against Artem Haroyan on November 5, 2021, with a seventh-round TKO at Ulster Hall in Belfast. He further demonstrated his power with a fourth-round TKO over Greyvin Mendoza on August 4, 2023, at Falls Park in Belfast. On December 2, 2023, Crocker faced Tyrone McKenna at the SSE Arena in Belfast, winning by unanimous decision and claiming the WBA Continental European Welterweight Title. This victory was a significant milestone in his career, adding another prestigious title to his name.
