Despite putting on an impressive performance and dominating the first five rounds, Wood’s exhaustion led to the fight being stopped in the 6th round, resulting in a loss. Undeterred, Wood rebounded with a comeback fight against Martin Mubiru, securing a third-round TKO victory. His resilience shone through as he continued to climb the ranks, culminating in a showdown against Josh Wale in a British title eliminator. Wood’s skillful boxing led him to victory, earning a unanimous decision on all three scorecards.

 

Seeking redemption, Wood faced Lee Glover for the Midlands Area featherweight title, a foe who had defeated him in the amateurs seven years prior.
