KJ Cataraja made his debut on July 11, 2015, at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino in Cebu City, where he secured a sixth-round knockout victory against Ardi Tefa. This debut set the tone for Cataraja’s career, showcasing his power and skill in the ring. Continuing his winning streak, Cataraja dominated his subsequent opponents, including notable victories over Pedro Antonio Rodriguez and Ellias Nggenggo in 2016. He demonstrated his knockout prowess with a series of early stoppages, such as his first-round TKO against John Kenan Villaflor in November 2016 and another first-round TKO against Lony Cadayday in July 2017. His ability to finish fights early made him a rising star in the super flyweight division.
Cataraja’s climb continued as he captured the vacant WBO Youth Super Flyweight title in November 2018, defeating Victor Hugo Reyes by unanimous decision. This victory was a significant milestone, solidifying his status as a formidable contender. He maintained his momentum with a series of impressive wins, including a third-round TKO against Delfin de Asis in July 2019 and a third-round TKO against Crison Omayao in September of the same year.
In 2020, Cataraja faced John Mark Apolinario and delivered a first-round knockout, further proving his dominance in the ring. His success continued into 2021 with a seventh-round TKO against Cris Alfante and a retirement victory over Romshane Sarguilla in February 2022. Later that year, he showcased his power with a first-round knockout against Ronel Dela Cruz. Cataraja’s most notable achievement came in February 2023 when he won the vacant OPBF Super Flyweight title by unanimous decision against Edward Heno at the Sanman Gym in General Santos, Philippines. He continued to defend his unbeaten record with a unanimous decision victory over Jun Blazo in February 2024 at the Midas Hotel and Casino in Pasay, Philippines.
