Professional Career
Kim Clavel began her boxing career in December 2017, securing a unanimous decision victory over Yoseline Martinez Jose at Place Bell in Laval, Canada. This initial triumph set the stage for an impressive series of victories, where Clavel showcased her exceptional talent and boxing prowess. Clavel quickly established herself as a force to be reckoned with in the light-flyweight division. Her early career was marked by a series of decisive wins, including a stunning first-round knockout against Ana Karen Compean in April 2018. By 2019, she had accumulated a perfect record, with victories over seasoned opponents like Luz Elena Martinez and Nora Cardoza, further solidifying her reputation.
In December 2019, Clavel claimed her first significant title, winning the WBC-NABF female light flyweight title with a unanimous decision over Esmeralda Gaona Sagahon. This victory was followed by continued success, as she captured the WBC Silver female light flyweight title in August 2021 after defeating Maria Soledad Vargas. Clavel’s relentless drive and technical skill culminated in her winning the WBC female light flyweight title against Yesenia Gómez in July 2022, a defining moment in her career.
Despite her success, Clavel faced challenges along the way. In January 2023, she lost to Jessica Nery Plata in a hard-fought bout for the WBC and WBA light flyweight titles. Undeterred, she bounced back by winning the WBC International light flyweight title against Naomi Arellano Reyes in May 2023. However, another setback came in October 2023, when she lost a split decision to Evelyn Bermudez in a bid for the IBF and WBO female light-flyweight World titles. Continuing her career with unwavering determination, Clavel secured back-to-back wins in 2024. She defeated Fara El Bousairi by majority decision in April and then triumphed over Katherine Renee Lindenmuth by unanimous decision in May, both fights taking place at the Montreal Casino.
