Julio Cesar Martinez, a Mexican professional boxer, has established a remarkable career marked by both triumphs and challenges. His journey began on March 21, 2013, with a second-round TKO loss to Fernando Monroy at Jose Cuervo Salon in Polanco, Mexico. Martinez faced another early setback with a split decision loss to Joaquin Cruz on October 16, 2015, at Auditorio Pablo Colín in Cuautitlán Izcalli, Mexico. Martinez turned the tide in 2016, securing his first professional win by stopping Sergio Granados in the second round on March 3 at Auditorio Blackberry in Mexico City. He continued his winning streak with a second-round TKO victory over Leonardo Baez on April 2 at Auditorio Blackberry, followed by a first-round TKO against Israel Izquierdo on July 9 at Arena Querétaro. Martinez then avenged his earlier loss to Joaquin Cruz with a majority decision win on August 13 at Arena Querétaro.

In 2017, Martinez further solidified his reputation with notable wins, including a unanimous decision over Hugo Hernandez Aguilar on October 1 at Deportivo Plan Sexenal in Mexico City and a first-round TKO against Marvin Diaz on October 7 at Arena Jalisco in Guadalajara. He capped the year with a fourth-round TKO victory over Martin Tecuapetla on December 16 at Domo Sindicato de Trabajadores IMSS in Tlalpan, Mexico. Martinez’s momentum continued into 2018 with several impressive victories. He stopped Ivan Meneses Flores in the second round on July 7 at Domo del Parque San Rafael in Guadalajara and knocked out Juan Lopez Martinez in the first round on August 11 at Mexico City Arena. On October 6, he delivered another first-round knockout, this time against Victor Ruiz at Estadio Chevron in Tijuana.

In 2019, Martinez’s career reached new heights. He won a first-round TKO against Irvin Ordaz on January 26 at Lienzo Charro in Ciudad Guzman and followed it up with a fifth-round knockout of Andrew Selby on March 23 at Centro de Espectáculos del Recinto Ferial in Metepec. On August 31, Martinez initially secured a knockout win over Charlie Edwards for the WBC flyweight title at The O2 Arena in London, England, but the result was later ruled a no contest due to an illegal blow. Martinez finally claimed the vacant WBC flyweight title on December 20, 2019, with a ninth-round TKO over Cristofer Rosales at Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona. He successfully defended his title on February 29, 2020, with a unanimous decision victory over Jay Harris at The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.

In 2020, Martinez retained his WBC flyweight title with a second-round TKO against Moisés Calleros on October 23 at Gimnasio TV Azteca in Mexico City. He continued his successful title defenses in 2021, defeating Joel Cordova with a sixth-round TKO on June 26 at Arena Alcalde in Guadalajara. A bout with McWilliams Arroyo on November 19 ended in a no contest after an accidental head clash, with Martinez retaining his title. On March 5, 2022, Martinez faced Román González at Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California, but lost via unanimous decision. He bounced back with a majority decision win over Samuel Carmona on December 3, 2022, at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, retaining his WBC flyweight title.

In 2023, Martinez defended his title with an 11th-round TKO against Ronal Batista on May 6 at Estadio Akron in Zapopan, Mexico. Most recently, he secured a majority decision victory over Angelino Cordova on March 30, 2024, at T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, continuing his reign as the WBC flyweight champion.
