Giovanni Cabrera was born on July 19, 1994, in Seattle, Washington. Growing up in a city with a rich boxing history, Cabrera was naturally drawn to the sport from a young age. Inspired by the achievements of legendary boxers and motivated by a desire to channel his energy into something productive, Cabrera began training at a local boxing gym. One of his early notable accomplishments was winning the Chicago Golden Gloves, a prestigious amateur boxing tournament that has historically been a stepping stone for many successful professional boxers. Giovanni Cabrera began his professional boxing career on April 22, 2016, with a second-round TKO victory over Deshawn Debose at The Belvedere in Elk Grove, Illinois. This debut set the stage for a career defined by skill, determination, and an impressive undefeated streak. Over the years, Cabrera built a solid record, often competing in venues like the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Washington, where he quickly became a fan favorite due to his aggressive style and technical prowess. Cabrera’s rise in the professional ranks was marked by a series of significant victories. On June 10, 2017, he secured a fifth-round TKO against Salvador Lopez at the WinnaVegas Casino & Resort in Sloan, Iowa. This victory showcased his knockout power and ability to dominate his opponents. Later that year, on August 25, Cabrera defeated Roberto Meza by unanimous decision at Omega Products International in Corona, California, demonstrating his versatility and endurance in the ring.


In 2019, Cabrera continued to climb the ranks with notable wins, including a third-round TKO against Antonio Escalante on January 11 at the Emerald Queen Casino, and a stoppage of Recky Dulay on March 23, 2019, at the same venue. These victories highlighted his ability to compete and win against seasoned fighters, further solidifying his reputation as a rising star in the lightweight division. One of Cabrera’s significant victories came on July 12, 2019, when he defeated Luis Porozo by unanimous decision at the Emerald Queen Casino. Despite losing by split decision, Cabrera’s performance against Cruz earned him respect and recognition in the boxing community.
