Galal Yafai began his career with an impressive victory over Carlos Vado Bautista on February 27, 2022, at The O2 Arena in London, securing a fifth-round TKO to win the vacant WBC International flyweight title. This victory set the stage for Yafai’s rapid ascent in the sport.

In his second fight, Yafai showcased his dominance against Miguel Cartagena at Madison Square Garden in New York City on April 30, 2022. Yafai retained his WBC International flyweight title with a second-round retirement victory, further solidifying his reputation as a formidable competitor. His momentum continued on November 5, 2022, when he faced Gohan Rodriguez Garcia at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. In a closely contested bout, Yafai emerged victorious via split decision, successfully defending his title.

Yafai’s 2023 campaign was marked by a series of dominant performances. On April 1, he defeated Moisés Calleros with a fourth-round TKO at The O2 Arena in London.
