Professional Career
Araneta began his career on September 7, 2013, with a third-round knockout victory over Garry Rojo at the Poblacion Balamban Sports Complex in the Philippines. This fight set the tone for his early career, as he continued to rack up wins, mostly by knockout. Araneta’s rise through the ranks saw him capturing various titles, including the Philippines Boxing Federation light flyweight title on June 14, 2015, after a win over Charlie Cabilla. His knockout prowess was evident as he continued to dispatch opponents with relative ease, leading to a string of victories. Notably, on March 18, 2017, Araneta won the vacant WBO Oriental light flyweight title by knocking out Demsi Manufoe in the first round at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu, Philippines.
Despite a promising start, Araneta faced challenges in his career. He suffered his first professional loss on September 7, 2019, against Daniel Valladares, retiring in the fourth round in Monterrey, Mexico. Another significant loss came against Sivenathi Nontshinga on April 24, 2021, in a unanimous decision at the Boardwalk Casino in Gqeberha, South Africa. These setbacks, however, did not deter him. Araneta bounced back with impressive wins, including a first-round knockout of Richard Claveras on July 16, 2021, at the Tabunoc Sports Complex in Talisay City, Philippines.
Araneta’s career highlights continued as he defeated Jakrawut Majungoen by a ninth-round knockout on April 1, 2023, at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City, Philippines. This victory set him up for an IBF light flyweight title eliminator against Arvin Magramo on January 26, 2024, which he won by a first-round TKO at the Nustar Resort and Casino in Cebu City, Philippines.
