Early Life and Amateur Career

 

Bryan Mercado Vazquez, born in Mexico City, Mexico, grew up in a family passionate about boxing. His father, a former amateur boxer, introduced him to the sport at a young age. Recognizing Bryan’s natural talent and enthusiasm, his father enrolled him in a local boxing gym when he was eight years old. The disciplined environment of the gym, combined with his father’s guidance, helped Bryan develop his foundational skills and foster a deep love for the sport.

 

Mercado Vazquez’s amateur career began to take shape as he competed in local and regional tournaments, quickly making a name for himself with his speed, agility, and technical prowess. By the age of 14, he had already won several junior championships, establishing himself as a promising young talent in Mexican boxing. His success in these early competitions earned him a spot on the national team, where he gained invaluable experience and exposure.

 

One of his significant early achievements came in 2011 when he won the Mexican National Junior Championships. This victory marked a pivotal moment in his amateur career, showcasing his potential to a broader audience. Mercado Vazquez continued to build on this success by competing in international tournaments, representing Mexico with pride. Professional Career

 

Vazquez turned professional on November 21, 2014, securing a majority decision victory against Nestor Ortiz at Deportivo Tlalli in Tlalnepantla. This win set the stage for his ascent in the professional ranks. On September 5, 2015, he faced Rigoberto Nava in Mexico City, marking a split decision victory that further established his presence in the boxing world. In 2016, Mercado Vazquez continued to build his career with a series of victories, including a second-round TKO against Juan Carlos Santiago on August 13 at the Salón de los Espejos in Iztacalco. He also achieved a third-round TKO against Jose Antonio Arellano Lopez on December 2 at Deportivo Lázaro Cardenas in Mexico City.

 

The following year, on February 10, 2017, Mercado Vazquez secured a first-round TKO against Ricardo Reza at Salón Zapata Vela in Iztacalco. He continued his winning streak with a second-round KO of Isai Galicia Vilchis on June 17 and a first-round KO of Moises Cortes Lopez on October 13, both in Mexico City. He ended the year with a first-round TKO against Alan Guerrero Mendez on December 22 at Deportivo Lázaro Cardenas.

 

In 2018, Mercado Vazquez maintained his momentum with a second-round TKO victory over Juan Manuel Benitez on March 3 at Arena San Juan de Pantitlan in Ciudad Nezahualcoyotl. He followed this with another second-round TKO against Jorge de Lara Malo on June 30 at the same venue. On August 25, he defeated Miguel Angel Montero by TKO, and on October 27, he secured a first-round KO against Laramie Carmona in San Luis Potosi. His year concluded with a second-round KO of Victor Contreras Martinez on November 17 in Puebla.

 

On March 2, 2019, Mercado Vazquez achieved a second-round TKO victory over Ugo Fougeras at Gimnasio Solidaridad in Fresnillo. He continued his winning streak with a split decision win against Diego Andrade Chavez on May 18 in Saltillo. On August 17, he faced Edgar Lozano and won by RTD, followed by another RTD victory against Felipe Carlon Lopez on October 12, both in Fresnillo. In 2020, Mercado Vazquez demonstrated his skills with a unanimous decision win over Ricardo Garcia Lozano on September 26 at Deportivo Cri-Cri in Cuernavaca and another unanimous decision victory against Alejandro Jair Gonzalez on November 28 at Studios Televisa in Mexico City.

 

The year 2021 saw Mercado Vazquez securing a fourth-round TKO against Juan Jimenez on July 16 in Ciudad Juarez and a unanimous decision win over Gabino Hernandez on October 30 at the Auditorio Municipal Fausto Gutiérrez Moreno in Tijuana. In 2022, Mercado Vazquez delivered a first-round TKO victory against Pedro Tut Canche on April 2 at the Gimnasio Miguel Hidalgo in Puebla. He continued his success with a third-round TKO against Martin Casillas Martinez on June 4 at the Domo de la Feria in Fresnillo and a second-round KO of Ruben Tostado Garcia on August 27 in Ciudad Juarez. On September 23, he defeated Victor de Jesus Albino by fourth-round knockout at the Grand Oasis Arena in Cancun.

 

In 2023, Mercado Vazquez faced Brandon Gamez Rocha on March 17 in Fresnillo, winning by a fifth-round TKO. He followed this with a first-round KO of Lamberto Macias on May 19 in Cancun. On October 20, he secured another first-round TKO against Mzuvukile Magwaca at the Domo de la Feria in Fresnillo. On February 23, 2024, Mercado Vazquez continued his dominance with a TKO victory against Ckari Cani Mansilla at the Centro de Convenciones de Ixtapa in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, further solidifying his reputation as a powerful contender.
