Biography

Professional Career

Adelaida Ruiz began her journey on April 21, 2017, with a unanimous decision win over Rebecca Light at the Quiet Cannon in Montebello, California. Demonstrating her power early on, Ruiz secured several knockout victories, including a swift second-round KO against Brenda Enriquez in March 2018.

Ruiz’s career gained significant momentum in 2021. On September 25, she won the vacant WBC Silver female super flyweight title by defeating Nancy Franco de Alba with a ninth-round knockout at the Pico Rivera Sports Arena in California. This victory paved the way for her to contend for the WBC female interim super flyweight title against Sonia Osorio. Although their first encounter in March 2021 ended in a technical draw due to an accidental head clash, Ruiz triumphed in the rematch on September 8, 2022, winning by unanimous decision in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Continuing her dominance, Ruiz achieved a series of impressive wins. In March 2023, she knocked out Maria Esther del Angel Diaz in the first round in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico. This was followed by another knockout victory over Maria Cecilia Roman in June 2023 at the Pechanga Resort & Casino in California, solidifying her status as a formidable fighter in the division. Most recently, on December 9, 2023, Ruiz defended her undefeated record and showcased her skill with a unanimous decision win over Mayela Perez at Thunder Studios in Long Beach, California.
